Bennett Lapoint has served as an assistant district attorney for the 31st Judicial District Court for Jefferson Davis Parish since January, 1991.
Mr. Lapoint graduated from Lake Arthur High School in 1973 as Valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA. He graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in Business Administration with magma cum laude honors. He also was elected Student Government President of McNeese in 1977. He graduated from LSU School of law in 1980 and is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.
Mr. Lapoint had a private law practice in Lake Arthur from 1980 to 1990, when he became a full time assistant district attorney. He also served as chairman of the Jefferson Davis Indigent Defender Board during that time. He has been the City Attorney for Lake Arthur since 1981.
Mr. Lapoint has been married to his wife Elizabeth since 1989, and they have 2 children.
Kevin D. Millican is an assistant district attorney in the 31st Judicial District, Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana. Since being hired in 2000, Mr. Millican has served in several capacities, including prosecution of felony and misdemeanor cases and as the legal advisor to the Jefferson David Parish Police Jury.
Mr. Millican received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1995. He received his Juris Doctorate from Southern University and was admitted to practice law in the State of Louisiana in 1999. He has engaged in the private practice of law since admission to the bar. Additionally, he has served as the City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the City of Jennings since April 2000.
Mr. Millican is an active member of Our Lady Help of Christians catholic church, where he formerly served on the parish council. He is currently a member of the school board for Our Lady Immaculate catholic school. He formerly served as a board member of the Jennings Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Millican has been married to Kristy Anderson Millican for 17 years and they have three children
Stacey C. Naquin has been an Assistant District Attorney in Jefferson Davis Parish since January 2005. She handles child support enforcement, juvenile delinquency, truancy court, prosecution of sex crimes, domestic abuse, and elder abuse, as well as a share of the misdemeanor and felony dockets. She is a graduate of Jennings High School, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University, with a major in English Literature and a minor in History. She received her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law Studies degrees from Paul M. Hebert LSU Law Center and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 2002. She has served on the Children and Youth Planning Board, the Communities Against Domestic Abuse Advisory Board, the 4-H Advisory Board, the Jeff Davis Addictive Disorders Clinic Advisory Board, and the Strategic Prevention Framework-State Initiative Grant Coalition. She is also an Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Jennings. She is an active member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, where she enjoys serving on the Social Media Committee. She serves on Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School’s school board and their Religion Committee. She is married to Andy Naquin, and they have two children.
David Bruchhaus is a resident of Lake Charles. He was reared in Elton, Louisiana. He graduated in 1989 from Elton High where he was Valedictorian. He attended McNeese State University on academic scholarships. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Government in 1993. During college, David worked in the Louisiana Senate and the United States House of Representatives. After college, he attended Tulane Law School in New Orleans. David was the recipient of the Robert Rees Memorial Tuition Scholarship at Tulane. He was a member of the Civil Law Clinic and graduated Cum Laude.
David has been a Member of Mudd & Bruchhaus, L.L.C. since June of 1998. David's practice is mostly trial work. He handles personal injury litigation, business litigation, oil and gas litigation, and real estate litigation. He has a large personal injury practice that includes admiralty injuries, offshore claims, general liability claims, and car accident claims. He has successfully achieved favorable jury verdicts for injuries involving neck surgeries, back surgeries, amputations, spinal injuries, survival claims and wrongful death claims. He has tried cases in Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Acadia, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, and Iberia Parishes. David has developed an extensive workers' compensation practice handling claims throughout Southwest Louisiana and Acadiana. Additionally, David has handled a large number of Hurricane claims following Hurricanes Rita and Ike for both homeowners and businesses. He acts as counsel for numerous construction companies in Allen, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jeff Davis Parish. He has successfully litigated large collection and lien cases on behalf of these clients. He is an approved real estate attorney for financial institutions and banks in Southwest Louisiana. Finally, he is an Assistant District Attorney for Jefferson Davis Parish where he serves as counsel to the the Jefferson Davis Police Jury.
David is married to Staci Bruchhaus. Staci is also a graduate of McNeese State. They have been married since 1994. They have two children, Samuel and Maggie.
